A good handbag builds confidence by holding all your essentials. While you may not need a large, 33.5W x 28.8H x 20D handbag, multiple compartments can certainly be handy in 2024.

No matter what you do or where you go, a handbag with enough pockets to fit your items is essential. It mostly depends on what you usually carry with. However, a handbag with six comparments may be the best fit for you.

Like me, you probably carry a laptop or a tablet, a mobile phone, charging cables, pens and papers, lipstick and makeup, a water bottle, an umbrella, a wallet and keys. And the handbag with seven compartments is suitable for keeping your stuff properly. organized.

Laptop/Tablet Compartment

Carrying a laptop/a tablet has become essential in today’s work environment, particularly when working remotely. Your handbag should have a separate compartment for the device.

These days, laptops with 14, 15, 0r 16-inch screens and tablets with 7 to 12 inch screens are the most common ones. It’s wise to select the handbag whose laptop compartment properly accommodates your device,

Larger Room for Clothes

It’s common to feel the need to change the clothes when transitioning from this to that or here to there. For this, you’ll need a spacious compartment in your handbag where you can comfortably roll up a pair of tights along with an underwear, bras and a top.

Not only for clothes, but the compartment can also be useful for putting books or larger items like shoes and an umbrella.

Pockets for Makeup, Smaller Items

Your handbag should have a zipped side pocket to keep smaller things, such as makeup items, together. Keeping these items in one place ensures that you know where to roll your eyes when you need them.

If your handbag has fewer compartments, you can use the same pocket even for other smaller items like keys and chargers.

Smaller inner pockets with zipper can be useful for securely storing your valuable items like cash, checks, credit cards, and ornaments. It’d be even more convenient if there were a separate, more confined space specifically designed for credit cards.

Mobile Room

What if our clothes lack suitable pockets for our mobile phones? Holding them in hands constantly is not a practical solution, of course. This is why it’s important to select a handbag with a compartment suitable for the device.

Water Bottle Holder

It would be an excellent addition to the handbag if it included a water bottle holder.

But a water bottle contains water, and if it is placed near items like tablets or phones, it may leak and potentially damage your devices.

And sharing your water bottle with items such as clothes is also not a great idea. It risks contamination, risking health hygiene.

Room for Wallet, Tissues and Handkerchief

You always carry a wallet while going out, don’t you? A wallet and a handbag! Or, a wallet in a handbag?

Of course, in a separate pocket of your handbag, like your mobile phone, to ensure easy access when needed.

You can also place items like tissues and handkerchief together in the same compartment of your handbag as your wallet.

Bottom Line

We see various new designs of the handbag every other day. However, focusing solely on the appearance and the price of the handbag may lead to a poorer choice lacking the six compartments for the most essential six items mentioned above.

We will have options to consider before making a purchase.
